Playstation Matters
On the 1st March 2010, Sony Playstaton 3 "fat" consoles experenced a melenium style bug. This made the units beleve that 2010 was a leap year, and therefore the date was the 29th Febuary. When connecting to the Playstation Network, which had the right date, the bug occoured. "We hope to resolve this problem within the next 24 hours," a statement reads. "In the meantime, if you have a model other than the new slim PS3, we advise that you do not use your PS3 system, as doing so may result in errors in some functionality, such as recording obtained trophies, and not being able to restore certain data." Most consoles have now been fixed, however some people are reporting pernament faults with their trophies, and savefiles. Is this marketing by Sony to get people to buy the slim version of their popular console, or is this purely an error in the firmware?
