Geocaching

Geocaching is a worldwide game of hiding and seeking treasure. A geocacher can place a geocache in the world, pinpoint its location using GPS technology and then share the geocache's existence and location online. Anyone with a GPS unit can then try to locate the geocache, by looking at its online listing. They then log that they found it (a find) or they didn't (a DNF, or Did Not Find).

A Geocache can be any size, from a film canister (a standard size for a "micro") to a bucket or larger. At minimum, a geocache is a hidden container including a logbook for geocachers to sign. Generally, geocachers are very considerate - otherwise all the 980,552 geocaches around the world would have been nicked!
